We cannot say it enough. Thank you to everyone who came out to the 3rd Annual Chocolate Chase in support of Access For All Barrier-Free Playscape, a Red Deer Rotary Club and Mattie McCullough Elementary School project! Every year this incredible, family-oriented event gets bigger and bigger and we are continually amazed by the support of the Red Deer community and surrounding areas. Nearly 400 participants came out to show their support. Our Chocolate Chase event was so talked about this year that our hashtag #ChocolateChase was trending in Canada on Twitter the day of the event!
We are especially grateful that Chocolate Chase was able to see growth despite the less than perfect weather we experienced that day. Everyone bundled up and came out in the wind and cold. We felt temperatures around 5 degrees celsius that morning. Yikes! We have been pretty fortunate that the previous two years of Chocolate Chase had absolutely perfect weather! We'll do our best to deliver sunshine next year, but no promises ; )
This event is such a fun one because it promotes an active lifestyle while still getting to treat ourselves a little bit. Every participant had the opportunity to enjoy chocolatey treats including cookies from Subway, gelato from Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria, and chocolate dipped strawberries from Chocolates by Bernard Callebaut and The Jungle Farm.
Even though it seems that the Chocolate Chase has just ended we are already looking forward to next year. We hope to see everyone from this year return for the 4th Annual Chocolate Chase along with some new faces. Mark your calendars for August 27th now so you don't miss out. Let's make next year bigger and better! - Kayla T.
